Hi there! My name is Brittany Gomola. I am currently a Special Ed teacher and a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I am originally from New Jersey where I received my B.A in Psychology and completed my M.S Mental Health Counseling with all required internships. My internships included working at a Child & Family Development Center in Trenton, NJ where I counseled inner-city youth struggling with emotional, educational and social needs. At the same time, I was an intern at a community mental health facility in Bridgewater, NJ. Once my academics were completed, I moved down to the Houston, TX area, and began as a ABA assistant working with young children with Autism.
In order to successfully become licensed as a LPC, I needed to earn hours counseling and I began as a LCDC at a substance abuse treatment facility and then I applied for my LPC and began my private practice.
While working private practice I realized there was a great need within the education field for children and improving their socioemotional health and began the processes of becoming a certified as teacher in the state of Texas , where I am currently employed as a full time teacher working with students with autism.
